With an online curriculum, we would first create an entire lesson in advance, hand out assignments to each student, and then use a dashboard to review student progress. Then, students could work at their own pace. Finally, the dashboard would collect information from parents about how their child is doing.
We decided that we wanted to see how an online curriculum would work in a school environment that involved a lot of students.
Our goal was to create a self-directed, online environment for each student where they could work independently from each other and access information at their own pace.
The project began in June of 2016 with an internal pilot program. Here is the story of how we got started.
