Why did Harry think Voldemort was trying to keep Harry from being born?
In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, we find out that Voldemort wanted to kill him, and that was his plan when he used the ring, but he got stuck in Time.
But then Dumbledore shows up, and tells us that Voldemort’s grand plan was actually to create a Horcrux and use it to kill Harry. So what was the point of it all?
Is there any canon reason for this peculiar obsession of Voldemort with whether or not Harry is born?
A:
Short answer: I don’t think there’s a canon reason.
Voldemort probably believed that if Harry was born, it would cause a revolution, and that only would prove to be a bigger problem than the fact that Harry, being a werewolf, will always be fodder for Death Eaters (and therefore, a conflict that will interfere in his plans).
Alternatively, he might have intended to use the Horcrux as a method to ensure that Harry would be born if he did not die the natural way:
“By making a piece of his soul into a Horcrux, we should be able to
find him. With luck, we might then be able to destroy him without the
risk of killing Harry, and failing. Voldemort might not actually be
able to come back to life again because of what he has done – in which
