Many enemy hordes are appearing on the west side of the map. The best way to deal with the masses is to block their path by building on both sides of the map. The north-east corner has the strongest defensive facility, so you can feel safe using it.

In the south-east corner of the map, several enemy units are gathered, and the strength of the fortress is weak.

Holding the west side of the map will attract the attention of the many enemies. The east side of the map is another option.
