In Spelunky, you control a small band of heroes undertaking bold adventures across the randomly generated landscape. With only a sliver of health between you and a fatal fall, you’ll face deadly traps, powerful monsters, and much more.
It’s more of the same, just with more stuff! You can expect a collection of traditional roguelike features like randomly generated levels, permanent death, permadeath, and a wide variety of weapons and upgrades. To top that off, there’s multiple ways to play, including the new Hardcore Mode that lets you jump into a level without any of your items and equipment.

About This Game:

The young freedom fighters of Selma, Alabama faced the burning cities and rioting police of the British Empire.
SELMA, Ala.—In 1592, three Dominicans draped with kingly titles landed on the coast of what would later be known as New England. They built houses filled with fine art. They planted corn. They killed beavers, rattlesnakes, and bears. Before they had time to subdue themselves with rum, the Puritans voted to ban the new arrivals from the colony by the name they had taken—Massachusetts. So everyone went back to Europe.
Less than 10 years later, however, a new breed of American was in the process of founding two new civilizations on the western shores of the North Atlantic. In 1626, the Pilgrims—pale, scruffy, pious, lucky, and all but one of them bearded—spent the first Christmas in the New World aboard the Mayflower. By the close of the colonial year, twelve had died, four more had been taken captive by the Wampanoags, and only a few had ever imagined that they would one day live among their American brethren. Then, one June night in 1636, the Pilgrims’ dreams all came true when an apparition of the almighty Jehovah himself appeared before them in the heaving waters of the Plymouth River, in full view of the Wampanoag. The Pilgrims believed they heard him say “Well done” and gave thanks to their God.
This, of course, is a rather romantic version of how the Pilgrims met their end. In reality, the Pilgrims were massacred by the Wampanoags as soon as they landed. Yet, despite the numbers who were slaughtered that day, the story is worth repeating because it reminds us of two things. First, that an American New England was a possible thing even without Utopia. Second, that simple courage, however little understood it was at the time, is a powerful trait.
