Tweaking the Background
In the Chapter 4 section on Photoshop, we talked about using the Spot Healing Brush to remove unwanted background elements — the sky for example. Some kind of adjustment can usually be made to remove unwanted background elements.
For instance, with the image of the daisies in Figure 10-5, the sky distracts from the daisies, so we’ll remove the sky from the photo.

Follow these steps to get started:
1. **Click the Background Layer (Layer 1 in the Layers panel) to make it the active layer.**
2. **Click the Spot Healing Brush, a feature that I cover in Chapter 4.**
3. **Position the brush over the area where the sky used to be (see Figure10-6).**
Using the brush is similar to painting in watercolors.

4. **Using the Brush Picker tool, set the Brush Options to Soft Round, as shown in Figure10-7.**

The Brush Picker tool appears when you select the Brush tool. In Figure 10-7, the brush is set to Round, and the Size option is selected.
You can access the Brush Picker tool by pressing Shift+Y.
5. **Click the photo to paint the sky out.**
A round area of bright yellow appears on the photo.

WordPress Pre-Published Posts Is Lost When Deleted
I have a custom post type “book” which is pre-published. The problem is that when I delete the post, the changes don’t show up when it is published again. I have to delete the published post, and recreate the book. How can I prevent this from happening?
This is not a WP bug, or a problem in my code, because this problem is happening on a server located at the same location as this site. If I made a post and published it, I can see that my changes where in the database. If I delete the post, and then save it again, it is again published, but any changes are lost. I don’t know how to reproduce this on my localhost, as it is not on the same machine. It’s like it doesn’t have any memory of the changes I made in the database.

How To Add Oil Paint Effect In Photoshop [PHOTOSHOP]
You can use many similar techniques to try and simulate the look of an oil painting on a image, but all you will probably get is a slightly grainy and rather disappointing result.
After opening the image, and the “Oil Paint” Brush, make sure you select Color Mode as RGB and Isochrome.
Next, hit the bucket tool (L+I+C) and select Color Overlay. Be sure to select the first option (overlay). Then adjust the opacity to about 20.
Next, use the bucket tool and select Color Overlay to highlight a section of the image. The Overlay is in RGB mode so the colors that are selected will have a greyish hue. You can adjust the opacity to get the look that you want.
Use the bucket tool and select another area to highlight the image. Do this as often as needed until the look that you want is achieved.
Finish the job by clicking OK in the options bar.
Keep in mind that an oil paint is a very sophisticated and hard thing to replicate. Also, this method may not work well when the image has a lot of detail.
