this is a dungeon crawling game that gives the player the basic premise of the story, the basics of magic and the dungeon raiding aspect of the game. This game is not RPG, but well in the vein of dungeon crawlers.
The player should be a beginner mage of the “Greenhood” school, the goal of this game is to raid crypts and maybe bring out a boss. You should not mind dying, you should not be afraid of having to wait for spells, just go, go, go, and see if you have any friends in the company you joined.
The game offers a variety of bosses who give you a chance to gain experience and level up. Each one of the bosses has it’s own unique abilities so plan on something new each time you play, level up, and then spend your score points on new spells.
Gameplay:
As a Player:
As an initiate you are a Greenhood initiate sent on your first task with your master to retrieve a stolen artifact. Your main goal is to defeat each of the bosses and level up to become a better mage.
The puzzles are broken up by boss fights, and then there is a way to send the player back to town to have another go at the new boss.
As a Dungeon Crafter:
You are a dungeon crawler, you go to different parts of the world, and you must figure out a way to get to the zone, the safest and best way is the path you will travel. You face different challenges, mines, dragon fights, traps and more. This is a safe enough route to travel, but not so safe that it does not effect the magic, as the player has a limited amount of mana to cast spells.
As a Player-Dungeon-Crawler this game is 100% Singleplayer RPG. You can either join a party of players or come back to town and fight another boss or go back to town to make use of the towns NPCs to have an easier time fighting bosses.
Specific to a Singleplayer Game the player has the following
Party Management: the game allows you to either join a player or create your own.
As a party:
There is a leader of the party which does the initial planning. It’s important to know what’s your goal and where the character is at the time, you set level limits and so forth. The person would also decide what spells or abilities to use depending on the level of the party.

• Sniper Game: runs perfectly fine but can be a little bugged if you try to copy/paste formulas from the game. However, it seems you can just press the button no problem and the equation saved.
• Space Game: Not sure if this is working at the moment, I made no progress yet.
• Laser Game: Essentially works, use the key combination keystroke for your keyboard to play, it worked smoothly for me on Windows 10.
• Hot Air Balloon Game: It seems to work fine, gives an error on MacOS.
• Cube Game: Errors, doesn’t launch, crashes on the startup.

Helios Magica is a 2D action-RPG inspired by Wizardry and ADOM with roguelike features where players explore 5 different zones to solve the puzzles, defeat the boss, and level up in a quest to recover a stolen dragon treasure.
Helios Magica is built in Unity and an ongoing development, we are a duo of 2nd year computer game design students, with a wide variety of skill sets not seen in one person.
A final critique, in the next build we will be adding a custom character creation engine to the build, as well as adding a variety of unique spells and art to spice up the game.

Nice, I really like the music, though it sounds a little
high-pitched if you’re using 2.7 x upsampling. That happens to be the
only technical glitch I can find so far

This sounds like the clip rate setting in XMB (xosd.dll, Control+I). I wonder if it’s because XMB has the “fast forward” option… If you’re in the Settings screen, can you double-click on the “UI” button (I think it’s the one with the exclamation point on the left) and you will see the “How do I speed up video?” dialog (I can’t remember if that dialog is a new XMB addition or XOSD) Click the “Settings” tab, and go down to the “video” heading. Try changing this setting and see if that fixes it. If not, double-check to make sure you’re not in the Settings or the video category.

The green, and sometimes red, looking fireballs did not make me
jump. When you do it the player will hear a “hit” sound.

It’s not just you. I think the audio is turned off in the current build. When you are casting a spell, it will look like you’re turning around towards the monster, but your character will not move, unless the monster is that close to you.
As for the glitches, I haven’t gotten them yet (just checking) but I assume, based on your note, that you’ve encountered the “hit sound” bug. If you use Right-click, you may be able to turn off “Audio:” in the Game menu (probably the square with the “V” symbol in it) or you can go into
