Despite XiFEO’s somewhat limited scope, it still has a lot to offer, and this is quite evident when we take a look at its simple and complete interfaces and features. For starters, when it comes to the process itself, there’s nothing hidden about it as you can see from the screen shot above. In the left hand corner of the app, the filter’s parameter properties are listed, the output format is displayed in the upper left corner, and the selected playlist has a thumbnail, and, of course, other than that, a list of the file(s) currently loaded into the app. On the right hand side, the next song is waiting to be compressed and plays it as soon as it is ready.

XiFEO offers a wide number of compression presets, and we can easily switch between them using a mouse. Our first pass through the app’s filters afforded us with a few hits, and we chose the first one. The preset included a rather aggressive dynamic range compressor, a bit truncation filter, and the preset’s compression level. At the next filter, we were afforded the choice of a crossfade filter as well as a standard one. At this point, we chose the standard one. At the next compression level, we had to choose between 16 and 24-bit. At this point, we chose the 24-bit setting. Finally, we chose the file structure and metadata truncation.
After the automatic performance of the said actions, we pressed the start button and waited for the time to pass as XiFEO compress the file in front of us. A few seconds later, we had our first result. At this stage, we could either play our file in the recommended option, save it into the suggested location, or even, rename it with something more to our liking.
Although the process took a few minutes to come to an end, it didn’t take long at all. In fact, there’s really no stage of this process that takes longer than a couple of seconds. Mod rewrite check if image/jpg exist
I’m working on an old website that I can’t change the mod rewrite rules on, so I’m trying to get as close as possible to how the site works.
My /images directory contains images that are uploaded by the end user. I’m trying to write a simple.htaccess file to set the request to this rule:
