ok so i plugged in my 3com switch again. this time i cant access the web adminstration. when i try to access it, it takes me to my router’s home page. how do i give it access to the web adminstration?
If you try to go to the web interface on your switch, and you get a “HTTP/1.0 404 Not Found” error, it indicates that the switch has rebooted and has lost its web configuration, and it has likely reset its IP address to its default.
I have a mesh switch here and I am able to do it now. OK, the release you’re talking about is 190, can you post the make and model of your switch. Can you tell me if it’s a core switch or a vmx switch. I don’t see why you couldn’t do this, just post a bunch of the configuration files in the same place. Here is a pastebin of the firmware that I use that works well for me:
I have the same issues. The switch works fine, I get an IP address from my dhcp server and everything looks fine. When I click start configuration, I get to a page that says “IP address conflict” and when I try to connect I get a “connection timed out” error. I find on my switch that I’ve never really set a static ip address on my switch, and when I do, it says that the IP address I’m trying to assign already in use. Do you think it’s to do with my DHCP server? I’m not sure if I can show you any of the configuration files I’m using, but I thought I’d mention that
Hey, I’ve tried to configure my switch using the web interface using the settings on the w95sw2 setup.exe but I have two issues with it. 1. It gives me an error and when I go to close the window it says “Please reinstall the network services” I’ve looked around online for solutions, but when I try that it says the error still occurs. 2. If I click on the switch to start the configuration, it will start the configuration phase and then it says there is an IP conflict, so I can only configure 2 of the 4 vlans, and it won’t take any more. Will I be able to connect 4 vlans with this configuration and not have to wait until I get access to the admin interface? thanks for the help!
