My laptop turns on but won’t boot
I was trying to update to the latest version of Ubuntu, but it got stuck in a black screen when booting.
Then I tried to boot from my USB.
I got to the boot menu (option at boot time) and tried all options, USB, CD and SD.
But it always starts to load, and when it gets to the loading screen, it turns off.
The screen is blinking in a square pattern, the only way to stop it is to switch off the power.
The only way I could get out was to connect a USB keyboard to my computer, and when I was in grub I managed to boot into Windows.
I think that somehow the hard disk has died.
I am using a HP Pavilion dv6.

Ok, i got to an answer from help@ubuntu.com.
So,
Lets remove the HDD from the laptop.
Then, open up the computer and find the HDD.
Cut the wires of the HDD.
Then, close the computer and take it to a repair shop.
The repair shop should find out the problem of the HDD.
Then, once the repair is done, plug back the HDD and connect it to the laptop.
Now you should boot from the HDD.
