Licensing and installation

To legally use AutoCAD software, you must be an individual or corporation licensed by Autodesk, which is what the software is sold to. If you are a corporation, it is best to obtain AutoCAD not from a vendor but from your Autodesk account. You will be charged only once.

All AutoCAD licenses come with the software. You can also purchase additional licenses or extensions to the software (sometimes called upgrades). You can only upgrade to the next version of AutoCAD or a higher level.
