NEWPORT NEWS — Police have arrested an Evans Road man after a shooting on Friday night left a Newport News man seriously injured.
Officers said officers responded to a call of shots fired just after 10 p.m. on Friday in the 400 block of Evans Road. They found a man with multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators said they found a handgun on the scene and found shell casings in the parking lot.
After interviewing witnesses, the suspect was identified and identified as Delmar Hopkins, 24, of Evans Road, according to police.
