Other CAD applications
Other CAD applications may be referred to as CAD host applications. There are two types: application-centric and application-less. Application-centric CAD host applications are based on a particular CAD program. If the CAD program requires the ability to create its own drawings, these host applications typically require the ability to create a drawing. If a host application is based on a different CAD program, the program is used to create the drawing. Examples of application-centric CAD host applications are Visio, Power Architect, Enterprise Architect, etc. In application-less CAD host applications, the application does not require the ability to create a drawing.
