In this tutorial, we will discuss the methods used to create a polyline and polygon on different layers in AutoCAD. For this purpose, we have created a new document with a simple drawing.

Let’s get started.

To begin the exercise, launch the Autodesk® AutoCAD® 2018 software.

Then, start a new drawing. We have named it “Simple Polyline”.

Note: You can save the drawing as a PNG file by right-clicking on the drawing and selecting “Save as”. The name of the file will be “Simple Polyline.png”.

After that, we are going to add some layers to our drawing.

Make sure that you have the default toolbars (Customize>Toolbars) turned on.
