This DVD Profiler plug-in will allow batch or “bulk” style editing of a subset of profile data fields, in a worksheet datagrid layout. There are also functions for importing profiles encoded in XML and CSV in various formats including DVD Profiler XML Export format, CollectorZ XML Export format, Plugin: CSV Export format, and DVDSpot CSV Export format.
DVD Profiler is a complete DVD management solution that will offer an extensive array of features including an ever growing online database that provides information about many DVD titles.
With support of the database, adding a new DVD title to your collection is as simple as entering the UPC from the DVD case or the title of the movie, and DVD Profiler will retrieve the entire DVD Profile from the online database. If you have a DVD drive connected to your computer, you don’t even have to enter the UPC, but can simply insert the DVD into the drive.

Rivalry with The Spiral
In 1999, the two magazines publicly released an article in which they both listed 25 things that annoyed them. The article was printed in a small format in the magazine of one of the magazines, with the cover being a picture of a tree. The cover of the other magazine featured a full-size picture of the same tree. Alongside the tree on the cover of The Spiral magazine were the words “I envy you!” while on the cover of the Whole Earth Review was “I hate you.”

In other media
In September 2012, actress Kirstie Alley, who is an important part of the Reasonably-Well-Off Professionals which is her character, approached Whole Earth Laboratories to ask if her character, Tracey Everson, was featured in Whole Earth Review. The reply she received was that it would not be too flattering to have her character involved with a magazine that was more focused on local food and organic vegetables.
