Why is current flowing in a loop antenna right through the antenna or just over the ground plane?
I was studying about loop antennas and found something that I don’t understand. This is the basic idea of a loop antenna design (see picture below):

Why does the same current flow through the loop antenna in both cases? Do the circuits in the cases shown above have any difference? If so, please tell me.

There are two main reasons you can see this.
A loop antenna will have some length to it, and will tend to have a return current flowing back from the end of the antenna. The current is carried by whatever is surrounding the antenna – the Earth, for example. In a conventional feed line, this is then taken into the antenna by a high-pass filter circuit.
The loop antenna has an inductance, so it will experience a voltage drop across its coils. This inductance will be much larger than the resistance of a short wire. So if you ignore the resistance of the feed line, this drop in voltage will just be enough to power the circuit on the right.
Regarding the power, the first case is very inefficient. The inductance of the loop antenna has to convert power received from Earth (and from whatever is close by) to power for the circuit on the right. So the circuit on the right is very inefficient and can only supply a small amount of power.
The second circuit is much more efficient. The loop antenna has the equivalent of a short circuit at its end. The inductance and the loop give it a large impedance. So only that which is actively fed into the antenna flows into the rest of the circuit. It is, in fact, much more efficient than a wire feed.
It has to be said that when you can build a simple, low-impedance loop, you can build a good antenna. You shouldn’t forget that a large number of the loop antennas you see in the radio shack are actually of this type, with inductors and capacitors that alter their impedance.

In total, data of 342 patients with histologically confirmed ALL (EORT group A) were compared to data of 191 patients with other central nervous system (CNS) leukemias (EORT group B). The mean age at diagnosis for EORT group A and EORT group B were 6.9 and 9.2 years, respectively. The Kaplan-Meier estimate of overall survival at 18 years was 51% (95% confidence interval (CI): 47-54%) for patients in EORT group A compared to 28% (95% CI: 24-32%) for patients in EORT group B (p = 0.0001), and mean overall survival for patients with or without EONT was respectively 27 and 13 months (p = 0.0001). In multivariate analysis, the EORT classification was an independent prognostic variable and was associated with a significantly higher risk of relapse (hazard ratio = 2.13; 95% CI: 1.43-3.18) and death (hazard ratio = 1.83; 95% CI: 1.31-2.56). These results of the ALL-BFM 2009 study show that EONT in the CNS has a highly unfavorable prognosis and represents an independent risk factor for relapse and death. Patients with EONT should be regarded as a separate risk group in future revisions of therapy protocols.Q:
