dr. renato bianchi is the founder and director of the geomicrobiology laboratory of the istituto nazionale di geofisica e vulcanologia. he is a geomicrobiologist with 40 years of experience in the geosciences. his field of expertise covers a wide range of topics including environmental geobiology, microbial geochemistry, the biogeochemistry of organic and inorganic matter, and geoenvironmental microbiology. he is a visiting professor of the department of ecology and evolution at the university of zurich.

atl software and aaa school de paris, our in-house trainer at atl software provided a 2-day training course on the use of arc-en-ciel (aec) course management software. during this session all current management functions were reviewed such as agenda management, course management and tracking, enrollment, etc. users enjoyed much the pieces of advice and skills transfer. at the end of the training on aec software, users were already ready to operate within the fully customized aec environment, set for aaa. the next step is the integration of aec software into aaa schools website using the aec kiosk module. this will make possible to offer new services, such as online registration and payment, and also to promote aaa schools catalog in order to increase the number of students.

we provided a two-day training session on the arc-en-ciel course management software (aec) to the public school district of waterloo region. during the training session, the district’s director of public relations and the director of learning services were able to explore how aec software can be used to increase staff efficiency, promote the district’s learning environment, and enhance communication with parents and the community. the district has already begun to integrate aec software into their existing system for school calendars, data management, and communication.

on march 5th, 2016 at the intercontinental hotel in houston, texas, ciel organized a historic consultation on the future of global climate change policy at the 2015 united nations framework convention on climate change (unfccc) in paris. we brought together the world’s leading climate negotiators, researchers, and ngos to discuss the issue of “climate action” for the 2015 paris agreement. we had two panels and one round table, as well as, more than 80 individual presentations. we sent our report back to the unfccc secretariat, and the report was part of the working papers in preparation for the paris meeting.
ciel has a long history of supporting and being supported by the evangelical environmental network. in early 2013, a group of evangelical environmental network members presented the ciel report “the case for climate action in evangelical denominations” to een’s global board of directors. this report was based on ciel’s work on climate change. een has already used a summary of the report in their communications and has also used a portion of the report in the formation of some of their climate action plans.
in the fall of 2012, ciel released a report on the impacts of climate change on women and children. a number of organizations have used a portion of this report in their communications about climate change. additionally, the report has been used by a number of church-related organizations for their climate action plans.
