Download the software from http://lasercut5.software.informer.com . Simply run the downloaded exe after installing it. It will start up, setup and configure the laser cutter. Connect the laser cutter to your machine using the USB cable and ensure the power switch is set to the ‘On’ position. Now you are ready to start the power on the laser.
You may choose to go ahead and start slicing up. Each cut file is saved to the chosen output folder using the name of the finished cut file and the sliced modifier. If the slicer is finished the software will automatically output the finished cut file.
Each cut file created by LaserCut is saved to a folder on the operating system containing a.lc file containing a link to the.eps file. This enables you to open the cut file from any operating system and to view it. The cut file that gets created when you open the software is linked to the cut file that was created. This means that if you open the software and then make changes to the layout the changes will be saved so that the cut file continues to work.
i am on a mac running os x 10.10.5, i’m wanting to get a 3d model of my laptop on the laser cutter. i have a.obj file of it, but don’t know if it is compatible with lasercut. i’ve downloaded lasercut for os x, but am having trouble getting it to recognize my file. can anyone help?
it is likely that you have uninstalled the software and in the process, you have also deleted your registry entries for lasercut 5.3. lasercut5.exe will now be searching for registry entries. this process will take some time, and during the search it will erase some other files. this is not a problem, since lasercut5.exe is the same program that you ran before. if you have not done so, download the lasercut 5.reg file from the download section of this website. double click on this registry file, and let lasercut5.exe do its job. your previous registry entries will be restored.
to make sure that all is well, simply double click on lasercut5.3.exe again and make sure that you don’t get any error messages. if you still get an error, download the lasercut 5.reg file again and run it again. please check your windows system and registry for any errant lasercut5.exe program. if you don’t find any, then you can delete the lasercut 5.reg file.
in the future, if you need to reinstall lasercut5.3, simply double click on lasercut5.3.exe again, and it will search for the install location of lasercut5.exe. lasercut5.exe will then search for the proper install location, and the program will be installed in a short while.
it is also possible that the correct registry entries for lasercut5.3 were deleted. please download lasercut5.3.reg file and run it again. this time, when the program opens, it will search for the correct registry entries.
