eragon was an awesome concept. i think that it is a good idea that they make a sequel. i think that the movie would be something that would attract a wide audience. i think that the movie would do well, but i don’t think that it will be a big hit.

watching the two movies back to back i was able to compare them and see how they were similar and different. eragon follows closely the book and the movie eragon follows closely the book. the two movies have some differences. the main difference being, unlike the book, the movie centers on eragons journey. the book is a good story, i would read it again in the future, but i think if i saw the movie and then the book i would feel like i have been cheated out of some great story.

in the book, eragon travels for the first part of the story with his friends, and then he rides with the dragons. in the movie, eragon travels with the dragons all the way through the story. i actually prefer the book to the movie because i felt like the eragon’s journey was more developed in the book.

the biggest issue with the movie is in the first book, eragon was able to ride a dragon for a short time after waking up from being asleep. in the movie, he was riding a dragon for the entire story. this is an issue because while eragon is traveling with the dragon varden, they are being chased by the galbatorix’s henchmen. in the book, when eragon wakes up he is already in the air and flying, he is not conscious of where he is or who he is. i know the movie wants to show the viewer the hard path eragon takes to get to the story, but there should have been more focus on what it is like to ride a dragon. the book does cover this in a few paragraphs, but it does not make it come to life until eragons encounter with the dwarf, orik. the dwarves only comment is to ask eragon if hes a dragon rider, and eragon says yes. then he tells orik his history. the history of eragon being able to ride a dragon is not explored until orik gives eragon a quick lesson on how to ride a dragon. this short lesson, while interesting, was not used to its full potential.

not that a great deal was accomplished with the movie, but it was a nice surprise. it was not as slow as some of the other prequels, and actually kept up with the plot of the book. the dragon was very well done and the dragon rider and his magic sword was one of the best parts of the movie. the people who complain that the movie did not have a well-rounded cast and that people were not believable need to get out more. the fact that it had an almost entirely foreign cast did not make the world any less believable and it did not make the movie any less enjoyable.
i hate to say it, but a lot of people who have never read the books don’t know what they are talking about. i’ve always wondered how people can criticize a movie based on things in the books that they don’t know anything about. i just wish they would realize the books were written for adults and not children. this movie is one of those things that is a total waste of money if you don’t read the book first.
the series begins with orphaned boy, eragon, discovering a dragon egg in the hills of alagaësia. having spent his life moving from one farm to another, the discovery of the egg is a huge event. even though he’s an orphan and not a direct heir to the throne, the king chooses to give him the egg. eragon’s uncle tells him it will hatch and he will know what to do with it when the time comes. the king then makes eragon his heir.
over the years, eragon struggles with his new destiny. he learns the art of a dragon rider, swordsmanship, magic, and of course, all kinds of other things. he meets an elf, a dwarf, and even a girl who was once trapped in a dragon’s egg. as the series progresses, eragon struggles to keep control of the circumstances surrounding him. things can only get more complicated from here. if the book is any indication of what to expect, eragon can expect to go through more than a few twists and turns in this story.
