The renowned ENGINEERING APPLICATIONS software house, Lucid Design, introduces the new LayoutEditor tool for the creation of layout designs for MEMS/IC products. It is an ideal and easy-to-use layout tool that allows you to create die layouts easily.
It is a graphics-based system for die layout design that has been developed with the help of experienced industrial designers. It allows users to swiftly create layouts and routes for MEMS/IC products. It also provides useful functions, such as automatic routing, netlist file export and import, switch editing, and router setting modes. It is ideal for both electronic, printed circuit boards, IC technology, and film technology. It comes in handy when working on devices such as chip on board, multi-chip modules, integrated circuits, thin film technology, and low temperature co-fired ceramics.
A Design and Layout Editor
The LayoutEditor is a graphical system that allows you to create die layouts directly on the device itself. It is equipped with a several tools and has an easy interface. It is a comprehensive tool for the creation of circuits, chip boards and thin film technologies. Thanks to its complexity indicators, you will always find the necessary and appropriate tool, at the right place.
Its interface is simple and intuitive: the main view area is framed by helpful function panels on the left and right. The first one lists the current layers with their afferent names, as well as the shortcuts. The second panel allows you to select the elements in the netlist, such as the schematics, nodes, footprints or cables. You may also drag and drop objects between layers and shift objects on the display.
LayoutEditor supports a multitude of file formats, including Calma GDSII, OASIS, OpenAccess, CIF, DXF, Gerber, LEF, DEF, Lasi, SVG, CSV, PNG, Alliance, ODB++, EDIF or Qucs. You may easily create and export electronic schematics, layouts and electronic files and import other formats.
A Comprehensive Tool
Thanks to LayoutEditor, you will always find a multitude of tools and functions at your disposal. Some are useful and readily found, while others require a bit of training. What’s more

He was born in Forres, Moray, Scotland, in 1933, and earned his degree in English at the University of Edinburgh, and later studied anthropology, history, and anthropology at the University of Manchester.

His academic career began at the University of Cambridge, where he was a graduate student in the Faculty of Oriental Studies under G. S. Kirk, and, in 1966, he moved to the Faculty of English at the University of Manchester.

Gordon taught at the University of Birmingham from 1991 to 1995, and then at the University of Edinburgh as Reader in English Language and Linguistics from 2001 to 2015. He was a visiting professor at the Universities of London, Paris and Strasbourg, and a visiting Professor at the University of Augsburg in Germany in 2003.

In 2007, he retired from university teaching, but continued as Emeritus Professor in the School of Linguistics at the University of Edinburgh.

His academic interests included the history of Old English and the history of the English language from the Celtic and the Germanic periods, and the study of English from a linguistic perspective.
