These are times that don’t go down as they used to. When there’s a new game on the market, it’s next to impossible to tell its worth without actually playing it. Video games have gone far beyond the fancy graphics, the fancy sounds, and the fancy music, to the place where a game is only worth a click when it makes your head spin, crushes your hopes, and leaves you with an empty void in your heart.
Being a gamer that loves to pick up and play games, there’s no way I would pass on a quick experience. So, while waiting for a group of friends to come on an event, I played Hammerfight. I would say it’s worth the 5 minutes you spend playing.
But then again, who am I to judge, right?

Save a trek to a local store, grab a hammer, and get good old-fashioned rock, paper, scissors-style combat with Hammerfight. Ten unique warriors each equipped with their own unique weapons and abilities, and a wide range of enemies with different play styles and weapons will pit each fighter against each other in an epic battle of one on one, 2 on 2, or 3 on 3 duels. Travel through different territory on your journey to reach the final fight, where you’ll face off against no less than 30 different enemies, and the winner gets to be crowned the champion of your own mini arena!
There are also daily rewards for you to earn while waiting, like score chips, bonuses, and more.

Deception: Awakening puts the player in the position of a trial-and-error killer, as they must navigate the art of assassination during a coup led by a mysterious dark presence. Not only are they a target of the vengeful groups that overthrew the previous regime, but the game requires players to consider the nuances of stealth, deception, psychology, and combat at the same time. Players will face a variety of enemies, ranging from mercenaries, trained assassins, and even their own comrades and colleagues. Most of them work in tandem with the other players, and are all placed in a completely different region from the main character. –War of Tycoon: Various strongholds are used for test attacks, but you are able to take over the entire capital for a final showdown between the opposing forces. As a leader of a mercenary group, players must assess the strengths and weaknesses of the fighters working under their own team by sending them all out to battle on-site. As each of the teams withers, the remaining teams are finally able to leave the main base and continue to assess the strength of the enemy.
–Shooting Tournament: Players are assigned the role of an assassin, and their mission is to hunt down and eliminate an enemy target, without being detected. There are 19 matches lined up for players, and they will have to attend each event at a location with a limited time to arrive and complete the mission. For a successful completion, players will need to adequately utilize their skills for each battle against an enemy sniper. Players will be able to switch targets more frequently as they proceed through each round, and they are even able to turn the enemy against each other to achieve a perfect score! In the event of death, players will then be able to engage in “Escalation,” which will force enemies to increase their chances of deaths when attacked by the opposing forces.
–New Action Fantasy: The game puts all its emphasis on players developing a partnership with the fighter that they will be sending out to the battlefield and escort to make sure they make it back. This relationship will affect their ability to fight more effectively, as well as force them to interact with the player’s comrades in real time.

IS THIS GAME SUITABLE FOR WORK?

As a game, it’s not one that I’d really recommend working on, but it is suited to it. It’s not one I’d really suggest to most people who haven’t done visual novels before. You can play it on the go, but there’s a lot of dialogue and mechanical choices that you need to think about, and if you don’t (I’m looking at you, my son), you could miss out. It’s possible to speed through as much of it as you like, but it’s really a story that you need to play through at your own pace. Keep in mind that most of the action and backstories come in the story mode, where you’ll see a lot more action and animation than you do in the dialogue choices. You’ll probably skip the main storyline during most of the gameplay, which allows you to pick at the choices of Caius as you see fit.

– I recommend a save right after the conversation you start, just so you can get the story choices right away. They’re not vital to the story, but it’s best if you can get it done in one sitting. (Some choices made in those conversations are locked until you get there, though.)

– If you don’t want any of the moral choices, don’t worry about the dialogue choices in conversations. Just go straight to the Wounded Warrior Project and Feast of Crispian scenes.

If you want to get your 100% playthrough right away without losing anything, you’ll have to play the dialogue choices well and complete all of the story missions before it’ll unlock the finale.

You get Caius in a situation where he’s played a game in a way that he didn’t approve of. Basically, he saw one of his fellow soldiers get tortured to death for attempting to defect. In retaliation, he killed the guy and went to prison, only to be set free by a general who manipulated the system. The general wishes for Caius to be a general, because they think he’ll be a worthy commander. He knows that he won’t be good at it, so it’s basically an offer that he can’t refuse, and without being a general, he’ll have no way to get back at the other general, who has made life difficult on his friends. You’ll have to make some tough choices of whether or not
