the theory and policy of microeconomics is basic to the discipline of economics, as well.effects of a zinc oxide and double-layer hybrid film on the surface properties and microbial community structure in full-scale activated sludge treatment systems. this study was carried out to investigate the performance and microbial community structure of full-scale activated sludge treatment systems at a wastewater treatment plant (wwtp) in south korea in order to evaluate the possible risk of the use of a zinc oxide (zno)-containing additive in biological nutrient removal (bnr) systems. the zno-containing additive was provided in the form of a double-layer polymer (dlp) film, which is composed of a zno layer and a poly-acrylonitrile (pan) layer. the chemical oxygen demand (cod) removal rates of the wwtp varied from 95 to 96%, which were higher than the removal rates for conventional activated sludge (cas) systems. the highest removal rates of total nitrogen (tn) and total phosphorus (tp) were 91.8% and 93.7%, respectively. the chemical oxygen demand removal efficiencies were improved by the addition of a dlp-based zno treatment additive. the key operational conditions at the wwtp were assessed in order to evaluate the effects of the zno-containing additive on the physico-chemical and biological properties of the sludge. the optimal operational conditions for the wwtp were determined to be a mixed liquor suspended solid (mlss) concentration of 3.5 g/l, a free-swimming velocity of 1.0 m/h and a temperature of 25 °c. the dlp-based zno additive was found to improve the sludge properties and sludge removal rates in the wwtp. the microbial community structure was also investigated using 16s rrna gene pyrosequencing. a total of 2,778 sequences from 23 samples were obtained from the v4 region of the bacterial 16s rrna gene. the microbial community structures were highly diverse, comprising a total of 208 phyla, 922 classes, 3,252 orders, 5,632 genera and 3,494 species. the majority of the sequences belonged to the phylum firmicutes (59.6%), followed by bacteroidetes (24.2%), proteobacteria (5.8%), actinobacteria (3.8%) and chloroflexi (0.3%). the predominant phyla were also found to be the same in both the conventional cas and the wwtp. the bacterial composition was found to differ significantly at the genus and species levels between the wwtp and the cas. the abundance of a major population of sulfate-reducing bacteria, desulfovibrio vulgaris, and a certain population of aerobes, pirellula sp., were found to be significantly greater in the wwtp than in the cas. this indicates that the population of sulfate-reducing bacteria was abundant in the wwtp.the main purpose of the day to day is to provide a forum for people to share ideas, suggestions, projects, challenges, techniques, and other information that would be useful to others. it is a place to exchange ideas and information. i started a new thread: this is for anyone with some experience doing resin casts. i tried to ask questions in the previous thread, but it got kind of messy. i am very new to resin casting, but i have a pretty good background in metal casting. here are some questions for anyone who might have some experience with resin casting. 1. what materials would you use to make a resin mold? i have never made a resin mold before.
