although we have mentioned several major features in the roadmap, its important to remember that the project is ongoing, and, not every new feature will be released for launch day. this blog post gives you an idea of where the project stands at any given time, but does not detail the inclusion of every last little feature we would like to add. with this in mind, we will add new posts every few months to keep you up to speed on the latest developments within the projects and where we stand at any given time.

for more information on how our internal testing process works, we have provided a little information on our new bug reporting systems. as stated in the previous month of the roadmap, in due course we plan to roll out new systems for reporting any bugs / issues you may encounter with rfactor 2. this new reporting system will be managed by the quality assurance team who, in conjunction with our beta-tester community and us, will be able to filter bugs into either high or low priority based on a number of factors including the severity, the impact a bug might have on the overall game play experience, and the potential impact it has on the day to day use of the game. when a bug is reported to us, it will be researched and triaged by our testing team.

there are quite a few new cars on the horizon for rfactor 2 and we all know that this is still a very small simulator, so to get them into the game requires work. therefore we have expanded the size of our vehicle technical content team. with the help of david and tom we have built quite a number of new car models to add to our vehicle database and for no time at all we will be adding more race tracks with new cars to rfactor 2. also, there will be new licensed circuits! even better, we will be releasing these circuits under gplv3 so we are ready when the release of our new cars allows us to. so if you are into racing simulation, then you are most likely interested in these new cars and tracks!

thanks to much of the hard work and enthusiasm within the usf2000 community (which has been part of a community that has been active for over 3 years) and last night we released the new 3.0 version of the simulator. this comes with a number of new features that are really making rfactor 2 stand out again.
-> new aero parts that will be included with the track editor packages for the rally and road courses in rfactor 2. these will include things like a new hard pack that can be used to replace the current soft pack surfaces that can be used with a road package in use.
-> new road package with the new tarmac aero surfaces and the ability to create any number of road boundaries that can be used to make a complete 360 degree road circuit within a custom track. the new road package uses a wind tunnel design to provide the downforce required for a realistic road circuit, bringing a huge dynamic to the virtual arena in rfactor 2.
speaking of which, we also have a fair few updates planned for the upcoming november release candidate build for rfactor 2, which as usual will be the last before the release of the complete game build (which typically ships about the same day as the release candidate). (you can already check out our steam workshop for some of the planned fixes and features that should be making their way to players soon!) this november build will include the following new features: the ability to change the number of drs zones on a track, the ability for a team to have up to 3 pit boxes and the introduction of ‘zacharias’ to the title.
as always, regardless of race or season we are planning on doing a significant content update in the offseason. this is to introduce new cars (including some that have already been requested by you, the community) and we will also be updating the older cars in the game. additionally we are planning on updating the handling model in the november release candidate build which will bring with it a few more improvements to the f1 formula. this will include the new 2018 fia formula one rules, in addition to some changes to the formula 2 season 2020 and the new 4th generation of the open wheeling junior series.
