Subhash Kashyap, a retired minister and former secretary of the Government of India, submitted his book – ‘Our Constitution’ – in 2009, a week before the death of the former prime minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Soon after the announcement that he had won the Padma Shri award, his manuscript was handed over to the Indian Council of Historical Research. The book, which has finally been published, “finds answers to many of the questions that have been raised by the people and the opposition over the years”.

Subhash Kashyap won Padma Shri in 2012. He is a former Lok Sabha secretary and the author of “Our Constitution”.
Subhash Kashyap has served as Speaker of Lok Sabha, Minister of the Government of India and joint secretary to the Prime Minister.
He contested the 2020 Indian general elections for Rajya Sabha.

Subhash Kashyap is a retired professor of constitutional law from the University of Rajasthan.
He also served as Lok Sabha Secretary and Ministry of Finance advisor.
He is a former Member of Parliament and Lok Sabha Committee member.
He is a politically respected historian of Indian Constituent Assembly and former Law minister of the Government of India.
He also works as a chief editor of Lok Sabha magazine.
He is an eminent political and constitutional scholar and author of “Our Constitution” – a study of the political and legal aspects of the Constitution of India published in 1994 and the founding Textbook of Indian Constitutional law.
He is an Emeritus professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur.
