get lost in one of the many corn maze tours in the area. among the many options are the jon kowalski maze, the family corn maze and the famous mazulis maze. the jon kowalski maze is the largest in the midwest, covering 1.2 acres and is home to 75,000 cornstalks. the maze is named after a local city councilman whose family built the maze in 1994. its big enough for adults, but theres plenty for kids to play in too.
this farm is the perfect place to spend the day with the kids. when you arrive, youre greeted by a corn maze, petting zoo, cornhole, hayride and pumpkin patch. you can also have a picnic and relax in the shade while watching the farm animals roam free. the farm also has a drive-thru corn maze, which is perfect if theres a good chance of strong winds.
in addition to the pumpkin patch, carousel and corn maze, this farm also has a petting zoo, pony rides, miniature golf, hayride and cornhole. if it gets too hot, cool off in the big outdoor pool. you can also bring the family dog or cat to the farm and get a free pet portrait.
this pumpkin patch is a great place to visit if you want to have some fun and maybe learn something too. theres a corn maze, petting zoo, goat rides, apple picking, a cornhole tournament, hayrides and wagon rides. the farm also has a corn maze that you can take a hayride to. there are always two hundred pumpkins to choose from and the farm is open year-round.

surprise your family with a trip to this pumpkin patch, where the patch is split between a field of carved pumpkins and a corn maze. youll find tons of pumpkins of all shapes, sizes and colors, plus other fall decorations. be sure to make time for the corn maze, which features a few checkpoints where youll be rewarded for your maze-finding prowess. the corn maze is open daily from 10am to dusk, and it costs $12 to get in.
the fall festival at the lakefront includes many of the typical fall activities like the pumpkin patch and games, as well as special events like the festival of food with foodbank of illinois, a fundraiser in which local chefs, farmers and organizations collaborate to create themed recipes that are served up to hungry attendees. the fall festival is held from september 26-october 23, and tickets are $30 for a single day and $50 for a full weekend.
if youre in the chicago area, there are plenty of things to do outside of the city that you shouldnt miss. a trip to the tiny town of rowena, located just west of joliet, is a must during the fall. thats where youll find the rowena apple festival, which features a petting zoo, apple pie eating contest and a corn maze. the festival takes place on the weekend closest to halloween, but visitors can visit anytime between september and november.
after an exciting drive down a winding road, youll find the johnsons pumpkin patch, where youll find pumpkins, gourds and flowers from the farm’s gardens. get an authentic country feel by driving your own vehicle to the fields and parking near a pumpkin patch where you can roam the fields at your own pace. as you wander, look for small gourds and pumpkins you can take home to your family.
