Gameplay

The Last of Us is a third-person survival action-adventure game with a narrative and dialogue-driven story. Players assume the role of Joel, a survivor of the post-apocalyptic world of the United States. The players’ primary goal is to guide Joel on his journey, while fighting zombies, bandits, and all sorts of other human adversaries in order to complete a set of objectives. The game uses a branching narrative and does not always present the player with a straightforward path to achieve a goal, such as escaping or confronting a foe. Players can engage in dialogue with other characters in order to gain the ability to hack certain objects and use them in combat to progress through the game.

Plot

The protagonist, Joel, is a former policeman who is trying to reach an infected town known as “Nebraska”, the last safe place in the United States, in order to find his estranged teenage daughter, Tess. Joel has more human adversaries to overcome than zombies, as the humans in “Nebraska” have organized into various factions and have begun to kill each other for food. Joining him are the elderly Tess and two other survivors: their son, Riley, and a mute girl they found in a crashed military helicopter. Joel’s goal is to find his daughter and get her out of the town. Joel has no intention of rescuing survivors, but chooses to help the teenagers because they share his same fate.

Character Creation
