This game brought back memories of the ARPG genre. I have played through the whole game twice, the first time without much trouble, and the second time with no more than 3 hours on my shoulder (thanks to a glitch that made the game faster, therefore easier).
I found it fascinating that this game is based on a reality and a myth, as the game is a long-running war that happened around the land of Elden, in a world full of other oddities (like the Goddess of Grace, and a player system that remind of Final Fantasy Tactics and Lunar Wisdom).
The game starts with you in the Tavern of the Duodenal, a place where you can eat, sleep or get weapons and armor repaired. After that, you must go to the Eastern Wilderness to complete the adventure. Each single area has a labyrinth of dungeons for you to explore, and it is recommended to hunt for the sacred potion “Heritage” if you want a good sum of money to buy better equipment or make improvements on your House.
In short, it’s a game where you will find new weapons and armor, and you can craft all the equipment you need at your House; each item is upgradable to +20. Once you acquired enough equipment, you can enter the Legends of Elden, where you will fight some monsters, and each fight will increase your power; in the end you will be able to face the “Elden Avatar” or the leader of the Elden (the last boss in the game), and that will end the game.
There are three campaigns, each one with a different map and different story; the only thing the campaigns have in common is that there are parts where you can play an A-class and B-class character. There are 10 classes to build. Each class has different attributes, stat boosts, skills, and destiny lines. You can add a new attribute to your class, and it will increase the hit rate of your attack. Each class has different spells: Fire, Earth, Water, Wind, Lightning, Mist, Darkness and Cyber. In addition, there are different types of rituals, including Analyze Karma, which give you some informations (like skills and destiny lines) about your character.
