Connecting to a stream’s server requires the following steps:
1. Search for the RTSP stream by using the rtsp:// url. The rtsp:// url can be obtained from a web-browser, it represents a program that uses the RTSP protocol.
2. Open port 554 for the connection, and listen for an incoming connection.
3. When a connection to the specified server is accepted, a new thread for the data stream is created.
4. The data stream is accessed in a client/server manner to retrieve the content data.
RtspProxy can be used in a Windows network. It will connect to the server and provide the necessary data to the client application. The server is able to register multiple multimedia devices. The proxy will listen on the RTSP server and open the necessary port.
Instructions to install RtspProxy:
To install the applications you will have to use the POM file.
The installation does not have a wizard. To install a plugin, you will have to execute the’mvn clean install’ or’mvn install’ commands from the ‘RtspProxy’ project.
Run the following commands in the terminal (command prompt) and follow the instructions step by step:
1. Download the POM file and unzip the file. The unzip file will be RtspProxy-1.0.0-SNAPSHOT-2.0-doc.zip.
2. Run:’mvn clean install’ or’mvn install’ to install the latest version available.
