Next year promises to be an interesting one for the ratings-challenged NBC, as the network has enlisted the help of football legend and former San Diego Charger star LaDainian Tomlinson to help find the perfect guy for its new singing competition show “The One.”
“The One” appears to be a potential hit for NBC given the amount of buzz around the first episode. In the premiere episode, Tomlinson hosts a “casting call” to “find the perfect man” in “The One” — a competitive singing competition that pits sixteen men against one woman in a showdown.
In some ways, “The One” appears to be a revival of Fox’s “The X Factor,” which Tomlinson also hosted, and “The Voice,” another singing competition. In particular, Tomlinson is optimistic about the show, saying that it’s “more inclusive, more diverse, and more fun.”
“I think it can bring a lot of light to a lot of different communities,” he said. “I’m excited to just be part of something that can do that.”
Though Tomlinson doesn’t try to hide his disdain for “American Idol,” the former running back is optimistic about the show.
“I’m actually excited for this competition, because there are some people who really never get to see their voice,” he said. “This is really a good way for them to get onstage and for a lot of people to hear them and see if they have what it takes.”
Tomlinson isn’t the only star Tomlinson’s involved with. “The One” cast also includes singer Ne-Yo and actress/singer Pearl Butler.

I need to convert a string “1 Jan 2019 12:00AM” to a date and time. I have managed to do this in SQL, but I am struggling with PL/SQL.
SQL to convert:
TRUNC(DATE ‘1900-01-01 12:00:00’) – TRUNC(DATE ‘+1 YEAR +12 HOUR +40 MINUTE’)

To convert the string to date and time use TRUNC() as below. It will return null if the conversion fails:
