does anyone know the dimensions of the barrel that fits the r-1? the dimensions that i want is for a.177. i went out and bought an r-1 receiver and had no problem putting a stainless steel barrel in the breech. the barrel that fits in the receiver is a.22 caliber. i have had this barrel since the late 1980s and have been very happy with it. the barrel for the r-1 is much longer than a.22 caliber barrel so i was a bit puzzled. i called bsa and they advised me to have a barrel made for the.22 caliber since it was used in the receiver. i did not want to throw it away but i didn’t think it would hurt to have something that i was told did not fit.
hi. i am the dealer i used before with a 12 ga. to rebuild my old r-1’s. when i used to buy an airgun, i would spend hours to find the right one. a little bit later, i found this same email: this one has a not fixed action and is the most accurate and reliable air rifle i have. it is possible that this air rifle exist around the world. this air gun is new, 2 years old, and was made in italy. you can imagine that i cannot be available so you have to make an appointment to have it. i would like to contact him, so i could send him my own air rifle to fix. it has been sold for me by another dealer, who sold it directly to a dealer. unfortunately the dealer that sent me this air gun i could not contact. if you can help me, thanks a lot.
let’s say i am entitled to 100% refund for this air gun that i never used. also this air gun is made directly in the same factory that i used for r-1 model in the 1960s and 1970s. the airgun that i am looking for is the double action only one.
the modern pneumatic with a long steel barrel(from a python) and a wooden stock(the rest of the action is stockless ) isn’t really the fastest of airguns but is certainly the most accurate. it is a great beginners pistol type airgun and im nto sure why there is not a lot of them about, it isn’t cheap but you can get one for about £80 or so.
today i made a wheely bin to fit a stockless r-2 i have, i have 10mm bolt xploder other wieners for the empty bags but i will only use 6 bolt xploder with the bags that are being made so you can carry 6 cases at a time. i used a wide bandage for the area around the triggerguard. it was a little bit busy with the sling so in future i will get a sheet of thin perspex, it was cheap so i wont fuss much about it. the seat on the cheebie was the trickiest part to make, i had to come to terms with the fact that it wasn’t going to be as girly and sleek as the gb series so for the head i drilled a hole that was slightly wider than the cheebie to ensure that it wouldn’t slide out with the recoil. i have the tools to make a set of polyfilla to go around the neck of the cheebie so that the rim doesn’t bite into the head and hinder the easy cleaning that it could give. the new stockless r-2 is made from a sassner alloy and is also good to shoot, he is a bit ‘dirty’ but it is not as dirty as the old one.
he is very accurate and like the other r series has a handle to keep your hand in place when you shoot. the fps is not fast but is very accurate and the bb’s are fat. i think this is an excellent beginner pistol airgun and is great fun to shoot.
