new to ezdrummer is a complete re-skin of the user interface which leaves all of the familiar navigation and control concepts in place but presents them in a more coherent manner. its a well thought-out redesign which makes ezdrummer 3 a breeze to navigate. every aspect of its operation is now straightforward. there are no mouseovers, and every element is concisely explained.

toontracks integrated au editor features allow users to create any type of virtual instrument using a drag and drop interface. the features include samplers, synths, effects, the ability to import other ezdrummers instruments, and a more intuitive mixer.

ezdrummer 3 now features a redesigned mixer, which is clear and concise. there are simple controls for all parameters, and theyre clearly labeled. automatic gain compensation is great when youre working with vocals, and its easy to control the way that software-created files are played back.

my favorite new feature is also the best: the integrated templating system. when used, it can result in intricate, unique patterns for live performances. its straightforward to use and the logic is straight forward, making it very easy to understand. unlike some templating systems, there is no need to reset the clock every time you want to make a change, or to make sure youve hit the correct key or button before templating.

it really isnt possible to understand how many obscure drummers mix experiences have been improved by using ezdrummer 3. if youre one of them, theres good news because theres even more improvements in ezdrummer 3. theres a great sampler, more instruments, and theres also a couple of new features.

ezdrummer 2 supports all major formats for recording and exporting drum tracks. once you have gotten the beat alignment of your drum tracks just right, in this version, we will export your drum tracks to any major audio host. we will also export to the songwriter pro.
this version will restore the internal au name of the plug-in to ezdrummer in order to restore save file compatibility with some hosts. because the internal name of the plug-in was changed in 2.0, old save files were not compatible with the new version.
added: the ability to switch between the song structure by clicking on the menu bar to the song structure tab (for mac). added: ability to auto-play and free edit only on the song track by clicking on the track menu to the song structure tab, respectively. the “song track” is the track selected in the song structure window. changed: delete/edit context menu in the song track menu, now all context menu actions can be executed by clicking a song track instead of having to right click on the song track. fixed: the track zoom window is now resizable. it can be configured via preference file.
fixed in version 2.1.7: a crash in about ezdrummer would occur if you had selected a product that is not supported. bpm detection would not work if the track title contained spaces or special characters. it was not possible to set the tempo of a track through the track title from the plug-in panel.
fixed in version 2.1.5: in ezdrummer, if you clicked on the low or high vibrato control toggles before sampling or loading one of the preset drum kits, the option would no longer show up in the appropriate kit, even if you had selected the preset when sampling. the preset drum kits would not show up in ezdrummers preset mixer if the preset was already set in the ezdrummer presets folder. when dragging midi from superior drummer 3 or superior drummer 7 to ezdrummer, the resulting sequence would be very short and clipped. it was possible to drag and drop a midi file from garage band 6 to ezdrummer, but the edit and copy functions in garage band 6 and in the song creator could not be used to drag midi, but instead it would copy, and paste.
